IAN ORDONIO

HISTORIAN

historian@apsasdsu.org

About Me: Hey, it's Ian ! People say I'm a pretty chill quiet dude, but if you like obscure music artists, games, or cool audio equipment, we can talk for hours. Also, I've got a soundcloud and I'm down to collab, if you're in to that.

Hometown: San Diego, California

FAMS:

  • 2018-2019: cRescEnDo

Year at SDSU: 2

Major: Television, Film and New Media Production

Ethnicity/Ethnicities I Identify As: Filipino

Favorite APSA Memory: Grinding out some songs for the short film soundtrack while hanging with some alumni and last year's board members that I barely knew at the time. Also playing League with past board members until we won, aka 3 in the morning.

Favorite Music Genre: I can't choose 1, so : Blues, Pop punk, lo-fi emo/hiphop, and that experimental electronic pop stuff.

Fun Fact: As of 2019, I have 11 instruments- 4 guitars (2 electric, 2 acoustic), a bass, ukulele, keyboard, melodica, bandurria, banjo, and a glockenspiel.

Biggest Accomplishment: I released a CD of music I recorded back in high school, it's full of angsty electric guitar lol, but also kinda cute acoustic + glockenspiel tracks. There's also little messages over unique tracks I made for people on the CD I gave them.

What Grinds My Gears: When people say they listen to "everything but country". Also normal aka right handed scissors.

Why I Chose My Position: I've always been interested in film and music, and I saw that this position lets me produce a ton of both. I was looking for a way to get behind the camera and start making cool videos to begin my film major journey, and I was inspired by my mentor Laiko who was APSA's historian two years before me. I was convinced when I was able to create the full soundtrack for a 5 minute short film she directed.

You are shrunk to the height of a nickel and your mass is proportionally reduced so as to maintain your original density. You are then thrown into an empty glass blender. The blades will start moving in 60 seconds. What do you do?

Response: I would probably call my boys and see if they can find me the smallest violin in the world, or left handed guitar, and a tiny suit. I wanna shred and look sharp, and go out the same way.
